The 2014 season was a tough one for Jordan. After missing over a month of training in the summer because of a serious bike crash at training, he missed qualifying for the Olympics by 0.16sec in the 10 000m. Where this could have affected some athletes negatively, Jordan used it as extra motivation, and it has shown great results over the last two seasons.
Originally an inline speed skater and hockey player from the GTA, Jordan moved out west to Calgary after being identified by Own The Podium's Talent ID program when he was just 17. Having represented Canada at Jr World Championships, World Cups, and World Championships since making the switch, the long distance specialist has been improving every year getting his best results last season.
With the help of his teammates, Jordan and the Canadian Men's Team Pursuit Team kicked off the 2015-2016 season with a gold medal at home during the Calgary World Cup. The same team finished up the season with a bronze at the World Championships in the event and Jordan achieved his best ever results individually with a 5th place in the 10 000m.
Now less than two years away from the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics, Jordan is shaping up to be a threat in the 5000m, 10 000m, Team Pursuit, as well as Mass Start event.
