Between 2014-2017, SportBrand Canada was hired as the marketing and sponsorship agency for the Cyclocross National Championships. Winnipeg, MB played host in 2014 and 2015 before the event moved east to Sherbrooke, QC for the following two years

Cyclocross has seen unprecedented growth over the last decade and is currently the fastest growing form of bike racing in North America. Being the perfect match between road cycling and mountain biking, “CX” is the perfect way for everyone to wrap un the season when the temperature begins to dip.  Often held in grassy field and always at the mercy of Mother Nature, mud is often part of the party but no one seem to mind!

SportBrand saw a natural fit with this event. The laidback attitude and community vibes surrounding the sport made it easy to market and offered the opportunity to develop genuine partnerships between sponsors and the events. This was a substantial event to organize and one that was fuelled mostly by volunteers. There was both a need and an opportunity for sponsors to get involved with the event. SportBrand’s expertise helped the organizing committee realize the potential of their event and provided guidance with onsite activation of the event's sponsors.

Why Cyclocross?

These events had a lot going for them from a sponsorship perspective; national reach, emerging sport, high traffic venue, two-years of rights use. Some of the key offerings included:

• Naming of on-course feature sections
• Prominent logo placement on event promotional and advertising material
• Course fencing signage
• Tent in sponsor expo area
• Right to use the CX2016 logo for promotional and marketing purposes
• Corporate team in Friday’s Corporate Relay Race
